Meyrin: Hiag builds for data center operator NorthC
5,700 sqm of usable space is to be created on «The Hive» campus. Construction will start in the 1st quarter.

Hiag has signed a lease agreement with data center operator NorthC Schweiz AG for more than 30 years for a new building to be constructed on «The Hive» campus in Meyrin (GE). NorthC, one of the leading operators of such facilities in north-western Europe, is planning a data center with a capacity of 4.5 MW, which will be powered 100% by green energy. This will be the company's sixth data center in Switzerland. «This makes NorthC Schweiz AG one of Hiag's ten largest tenants,» the real estate company announced.
After receiving the legally binding building permit at the end of 2025, Hiag will start work on the building in the first quarter of 2026. It will also be suitable for other uses in the long term. The rental area of the new building is around 5,700 square meters. Handover of the rental property is scheduled for the end of 2027. According to Alexandra Schless, CEO of NorthC Group, one of the main advantages of the Geneva location is its proximity to the Cern research center. There are also new opportunities for collaboration on innovation topics, including AI.
