St. Gallen: Path cleared for residential project in the south of the city
The developer Halter AG has announced that the building lease agreement for 42 apartments has been signed.

The future Riethüsli district center is being built in the south of St. Gallen between the Riethüsli train station, Teufenerstrasse and the Riethüsli bus turning area. After the city parliament unanimously approved the building lease agreement, it was signed last week.
Together with Pfister Klingenfuss Architekten AG and the landscape architects from Kollektiv Nordost, Halter AG has developed an ensemble that includes urban living, public-oriented uses and a concept for passage towards the Appenzeller Bahn. The inner courtyard of the complex is intended to form the transition between the neighborhood square and the communal outdoor space and strengthen neighborly interaction.
A total of 42 apartments as well as two commercial units for retail and gastronomy and parking are planned. The plot of land owned by the municipality of St. Gallen measures 2,008 square meters. The planned living space is 3,400 square meters. In addition, 170 square meters are planned for gastronomy and 270 square meters for retail. Halter is acting as builder, investor and developer. The investment volume is CHF 37 million. Completion is scheduled for 2029. (aw)
