Zuchwil: Interim use for the Scintilla site
Projekt Interim has been commissioned to find suitable concepts for a transitional phase on the several-hectare commercial site.

The new owners of the Scintilla site in Zuchwil (SO) have commissioned Projekt Interim to manage the interim use of some of the buildings. Under the project name «Magneto Areal», the plan is to offer start-ups, creative people, associations and small businesses flexible spaces at attractive conditions. The aim is to «create space for creativity, entrepreneurship and community during a transitional phase, while retaining the industrial substance of the site», the company explains. The interim use is initially planned for a period of two years.
«The interim use is intended as a transition and prelude to a long-term, sustainable development of the site.» The site at Allmendweg 4 in Zuchwil was the production site of electrical appliance manufacturer Scintilla, which was later taken over by Bosch.
As IB had reported, The 35,600 square meter site was sold to Intershop last year by the German project developer Activ-Group. The usable space totals around 40,000 sqm. Activ bought the commercial site in 2017. (aw)
