Zofingen: Pensimo plans 300 apartments
The media company Ringier has sold the western part of a former printing plant site to the Turidomus investment foundation. The aim is to create a wide range of apartments by 2030.

Turidomus, a real estate investment foundation belonging to Pensimo, acquired the western part of the former Swissprinters site near Zofingen railroad station from Ringier Areal AG on September 4. According to a press release, a study contract is to be carried out next year. Over 300 apartments are planned, which could be ready for occupancy from 2030.
The 27,636 square meter "Areal West" was home to a print shop until 2024, which ceased operations in September. The eastern part of the site remains in the possession of Ringier. In recent years, the media company has worked with the city of Zofingen and the Basel-based architectural firm Christ & Gantenbein to develop a strategy for converting the Swissprinters site into a mixed residential and working quarter.
Start of construction in 2028 at the earliest
"The acquisition of this unique and strategically ideal development site represents a special opportunity for us," says Alexander Büchel, the portfolio manager responsible at Pensimo. "Zofingen has an attractive location quality, is a cantonal development focus and the micro-location of the site is excellent." The apartments on offer will include both small apartments and family homes. A total of over 300 apartments are planned. According to Pensimo, construction can be expected to start from 2028, depending on the duration of the procedures, with completion of the apartments from 2030.
The site is located opposite Zofingen's old town, with the eastern part directly adjacent to the railroad station and the western part, now acquired by Pensimo, directly behind it. In total, the "Areal West" consists of five building plots. The new owner is aiming for SNBS certification for the site. A central neighborhood square, like all surrounding areas, is to be designed to be climate-adapted. In addition, a district heating energy supply is being planned and the potential for photovoltaics is to be exploited. (aw)
