Schlieren: New JED building inaugurated
A property on Zürcherstrasse in Schlieren whose office space heats itself through users and equipment recently went into operation.

Swiss Prime Site announces the completion of Building D on the JED Campus at Zürcherstrasse 39 in Schlieren near Zurich. The building was realized according to the "2226" concept and completely dispenses with conventional heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems in the office areas from the 2nd to 4th floors. In winter, heat is generated by people, running appliances and lamps and stored in the thermal building block. In summer, temperatures are controlled indoors and via the ventilation flaps. In addition, all building materials are recyclable. Solid walls reduce heat exchange, while rooms up to 3.8 m high are designed to ensure a sense of well-being. Laboratories have been created on the first floor and second floor. Conventional building services are planned for these rooms. The building was certified with SNBS Gold and, according to SPS, forms the "sustainable keystone" of the extensive JED site development.
The "2226" building concept - the name refers to the target indoor temperature range of 22 to 26 degrees Celsius - was designed by Dietmar Eberle from the Baumschlager Eberle architectural firm. With around 18,000 square meters of floor space, the Schlieren project is "the biggest test to date for the 2226 concept", Baumschlager Eberle said of the project. (aw)
