Bülach: SNB plans new cash logistics center

The Swiss National Bank (SNB) has acquired a plot of land in Bülach in the canton of Zurich on which it intends to build a new cash logistics center. Until now, the SNB's cash infrastructure was located at its headquarters in Zurich. "The secure supply of cash by the SNB requires modern structural and technical infrastructure," the central bank announced. The logistics center is expected to go into operation in the early 2030s. "The use of cash meets a fundamental need of the Swiss population," comments the SNB on its investment in the necessary infrastructure. (aw)
