Ebikon: Schindler plans hotel and apartments
The global elevator manufacturer plans to construct a building with hotel use and rental apartments by 2028, creating urgently needed accommodation for employees and visitors to its company campus.

Schindler Aufzüge AG is planning to build a hotel and residential complex in Ebikon. Accommodation for international guests of the Schindler campus and employees is "urgently needed", is how the globally active company explains its plans. With a projected 130 hotel rooms and several rental apartments, the new building will also contribute to the upgrading of the site.
The building is to be constructed on the site opposite Schindler's headquarters. The hotel will reportedly be operated by an "experienced provider" and will be open to all guests. However, the operator has not yet been determined. The design plan is to be submitted at the beginning of July. The rear of the building will be "open and landscaped", according to Schindler. Other services, such as a restaurant, are conceivable. The building application is planned for early 2026. Construction will start in fall 2026, with completion and opening scheduled for mid-2028.
Municipality welcomes the plans
The municipality of Ebikon supports the project. "We are delighted with Schindler's plans," says municipal president Daniel Gasser. The new hotel fills a gap in Ebikon's offerings. "We not only want to fulfill a practical need with the construction, but also make a sustainable, positive contribution to the region," says Schindler CEO Franz-Xaver Simmen. (aw)
