Geneva: Bank becomes Ruby Hotel
The hotel operator for PSP Swiss Property's conversion project at Rue de Hesse 18 has now been determined.

The Ruby Group, which is part of InterContinental Hotels Group PLC (IHG Hotels & Resorts) and is currently expanding rapidly, has announced a further lean-luxury hotel in Geneva. It will be realized as part of a conversion project in collaboration with PSP Swiss Property. The group's second hotel in Geneva after the Ruby Claire Hotel and its third in Switzerland is being built in a former bank building (4,150 sqm gross lettable area) at Rue de Hesse 18. 124 hotel rooms and public uses on the first floor are planned. The location in Geneva's banking district is just a few minutes' walk from the banks of the Rhône, at the interface between the Quartier des Banques and the Les Bains district. Major streetcar and bus stations are in the immediate vicinity; Geneva Airport can be reached in 15 minutes. "The upcoming opening of a new Ruby Hotel will revitalize the building and contribute to the upgrading of the entire quarter," says Peter Cloet, Head of the French-speaking Switzerland section at PSP Swiss Property in Geneva. bw
