The Landquart Fashion Outlet is being extended. The foundation stone for the extension was recently laid. According to the Dutch Via Outlets, the owner of the center, the gross rental area will increase by a quarter or almost 5,000 m² to a total of almost 27,000 m². The new building is due to open in the first quarter of 2026 and will include a total of 14 additional retail units as well as a new restaurant and a covered parking garage with 1,550 parking spaces.

The new building is being realized by the Swiss company Zindel+Co AG, based in Maienfeld. The retail specialist Holder Mathias from London was commissioned as the architect. The development project is aiming for Breeam certification with the rating "excellent" after completion. Specific features include solar cells on the roof and a geothermal heating system.

"Brand sales doubled since 2014"

"The expansion of the Landquart Fashion Outlet reflects our successful repositioning of the center over the last 10 years," says Johan Caspar Bergenthal, COO of Via Outlets. All available space in the center is currently let. Under Via's management since 2014, brand sales have more than doubled and occupancy has increased by 27%. Via puts the increase in visitor numbers at 76%. The center in Landquart is "an important attraction for domestic and foreign tourists visiting the canton of Graubünden", it says.

Via Outlets is wholly owned by the Dutch investor APG and operates 11 fashion outlets in the Czech Republic, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Poland, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland. The gross lettable area totals 290,000 square meters. (aw)
