Basel: New tenant on the Klybeck site
A start-up specializing in binding agents moves into space in a laboratory and office building on the industrial site of Rhystadt AG.

Rhystadt AG has announced a new tenant for the Klybeck site. According to a press release, the start-up Sintares AG is moving to the Basel industrial site in May. The company specializes in the development of new binders for paints and varnishes and has rented a 409 m² space in laboratory building 136 in the southern part of the Rhystadt site. The building was designed in the mid-1980s by Bernese architect Andrea Roost for the former chemical company Ciba. Today it has laboratory and office space on a total of six floors.
At the end of March, Rhystadt AG announced that the neighboring building WKL-135 would be renovated and extended. The building is to be renovated by mid-2028 according to the designs of Herzog & de Meuron and will then serve as a multi-tenant laboratory building. "This will create a life science hotspot in the middle of the Klybeck site," writes Rhystadt. (aw)
