Hausen/Lupfig: Hiag announces start of construction for new buildings
Coating specialist Oerlikon Metco has signed a rental agreement for two new buildings on the Reichhold campus. According to Hiag, construction has already begun.
Hiag has finalized the lease agreement for 15,000 m² in two new buildings on the Reichhold campus. Coating specialist Oerlikon Metco will use the production and office space for 20 years, according to a statement. The rental agreement is the result of an existing development agreement for the long-term establishment of Oerlikon Metco on the campus, which is located between Haus and Lupfig in the canton of Aargau. Oerlikon Metco is combining the existing Wohlen, Dottikon and Winterthur sites on the Reichhold campus at the Birrfeld highway junction to become one of Hiag's five largest tenants.
Hiag received a legally binding building permit at the end of February 2025 and started construction in mid-April. Occupation is planned for the end of 2026. (aw)
