The client is Solviva AG from Cham, and Genu Partner from Zurich is the general contractor for the construction project, for which the groundbreaking ceremony was held on December 6, 2018. Thomasgraf AG has been commissioned with the sale and rental of the apartments.

Sunnepark is located on the southern slope of Grenchen and adjoins the health center of the same name, which has been in existence for five years and was also realized by Solviva. By 2021, more than 100 barrier-free rental and owner-occupied apartments of various sizes will be realized in six buildings, one of which will include nursing apartments. There will also be a connected underground car park, and a daycare center is also planned.

According to Thomasgraf, every resident of the residential development will be able to benefit from the services of the care center (nursing, clothing service, cleaning, meals, etc.) and will have the right to a nursing place, if desired. The apartment buildings and the health center will be connected by an open, green park.

The company Solviva, owned by the Central Swiss entrepreneur Willi Gyger, had taken over the Grenchen hospital, which had been closed by the canton, under building rights and turned it into a nursing home with a good 100 places, a dementia ward with 28 places and a training center for courses for nursing staff. On the top floor of the main building there is a restaurant with a large panoramic terrace, which is also open to the public. (ah)
