Zurich: Green light for Manegg Mitte
The building permit for the Manegg Mitte residential development in Zurich has become legally binding, meaning that the Building Cooperative of the Swiss Federal Personnel BEP and Steiner AG can now realize the project.

In the south of Zurich, 150 condominiums are to be built in two buildings directly on the Sihl River, which will be marketed under the name "Sihlterrassen". In another property, around 100 rental apartments will be built for the BEP cooperative and commercial space on the first floor. Construction is scheduled to start in 2019, and the first apartments are expected to be ready for occupancy in 2021, Steiner AG says.
The entire site is just under 16,000 square meters in size and allows for a development with a total floor space of around 36,900 square meters, distributed among the three new buildings. The total of 250 apartments in the three buildings comprise 2.5 to 5.5 rooms and, according to Steiner, are aimed at families, couples, shared apartments and single people.
The former industrial site of Manegg is considered one of the last major development areas in the city of Zurich. Seven years ago, the basis for the new development was created with the enactment of the private design plan. The site is well connected to public transport via the S4 line of the Sihltal Zürich Uetliberg Bahn (SZU); Greencity and Sihlbogen are in the immediate vicinity. (ah)
