Zurich: Groundbreaking ceremony for WolkenWerk
On August 23, the groundbreaking ceremony for the WolkenWerk project in Zurich-Oerlikon was celebrated. A development with more than 300 apartments is being built.

In Zurich North, the WolkenWerk project involves the construction of three high-rise residential buildings and base buildings. The building owners are Leutschenbach AG and Nyffenegger Immobilien AG, the general contractor is Implenia.
The project comprises 300 condominiums to the Minergie standard with a variety of floor plans, including studios, loft-like garden apartments and exclusive penthouse maisonettes. In addition, the production facilities of Nyffenegger Armaturen will move into one of the basement floors.
Staggered occupancy will begin in 2020, and owners will be able to use an app to virtually walk through their apartment and - also virtually - select materials for the interior finishes.
The buildings with an investment volume of CHF 150 million were designed by the Ateliergemeinschaft Sihlquai, consisting of Von Ballmoos Krucker Architekten, Staufer & Hasler Architekten and Ghisleni Partner AG.
