Zurich: New residential project at Letzigrund
The city of Zurich is planning a new housing estate near Letzigrund stadium with 46 units for around 140 to 145 residents.
For the project on the corner of Herdernstrasse and Bullingerstrasse in Zurich-Aussersihl, the city council is requesting a project loan of CHF 28.6 million from the municipal council. As the loan amount exceeds the limit of CHF 20 million, a referendum is expected to be held on this in the first quarter of 2018.
Subject to the approval of the electorate, construction should be able to start at the end of 2018. Four of the current 34 family gardens would have to make way for the construction project. Completion could then take place in mid-2020. The winning design for the planned new urban housing estate comes from Nimbus Architekten ETH.
