Decarbonization starts at portfolio level. AFC uses digital analysis processes and intelligently combines them with ESG targets, legal requirements, market forecasts and profitability. With the help of software developed by ETH spin-off Scandens, dynamic renovation roadmaps are created for each property. The results show the need for action, opportunities, risks and strategic refurbishment paths.
Not every refurbishment is equally beneficial, neither ecologically nor economically. AFC combines expertise in energy, funding landscape, building condition and operating strategy to create packages of measures with maximum impact. Once a property has been selected, AFC supports project development: requirements are specified and potential is identified at an early stage. Simulations, certification checks (e.g. LEED, BREEAM, SNBS) and digital twins provide a sound basis for decision-making. As a result, investments are made in a targeted manner and without oversizing.
Integral solutions: Operation, fire protection and building physics
Fire protection and building physics are often sticking points in existing buildings. AFC contributes decades of experience and digital planning tools to efficiently solve even complex requirements. At the same time, subsequent operation is also taken into account. From the indoor climate to energy flows and maintenance, all factors are incorporated into the integral strategy.
Even after a project has been completed, AFC remains active and continuously adds consumption data to the digital twin. On request, AFC can also take over the monitoring and ESG documentation. This creates a crucial building block on the way to a functioning Net Zero strategy.
