CBRE: Simon Schmid strengthens hotel team
Schmid comes from a consulting firm and will be co-head of the Hotels & Operational Real Estate division.
Simon Schmid joined CBRE Switzerland in October as Co-Head of the Hotels & Operational Real Estate (OPRE) team. «He will work alongside Julia Wyss, who has been a key member of the CBRE Switzerland team since 2022 and previously worked in CBRE's OPRE team in London for seven years,» the company writes.
Before joining CBRE, Schmid was reportedly responsible for the Swiss hotel real estate sector at a «Big 4» consulting firm. In this role, he managed numerous high-profile mandates and provided strategic input for hospitality and mixed-use developments. «His work included valuations, feasibility studies, ESG risk assessments and strategies as well as transaction due diligence,» CBRE continued. Schmid began his consulting career with an independent hotel group based in Geneva. He holds a Master of Science in Real Estate from HSLU and a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management from EHL Hospitality Business School.
