Technopark Zurich has a new operational manager in Marcel Gurrath. He succeeds Karin Looser, who is leaving the company at the end of October 2025. Gurrath was most recently Head of Lettings Management at Livit AG, where he was part of the management committee with nationwide responsibility for nine branches and around 65 employees. «His expertise ranges from strategic planning and implementation to change management and the marketing of complex large-scale projects, asset and portfolio management and process digitalization,» writes Technopark in a press release. Gurrath holds an MAS ZFH in Real Estate Management. He has spent the last few months traveling the world. As the new CEO, Gurrath will «focus clearly on the strategic development of the location, strengthening innovation, increasing capacity utilization and efficiency as well as the digitalization of services and processes for Technopark Zurich», according to the press release.

Looser was at the helm of the Technopark for twelve years

Karin Looser has managed the Technopark since 2013. She has done this «with great passion and foresight» and has had a lasting impact on its development, writes her former employer. The most important milestones during her time in office included infrastructural modernizations, including the complete renovation of the catering area. The organizational integration of the foundation, real estate management and event management also took place during her time.

Technopark Zurich is home to over 240 young companies and tech start-ups. The site is part of the Switzerland-wide Technopark Alliance and has direct access to universities, research and investors. (aw)
