Real estate trade fair: Expo Real reports slight increase in visitors

Around 42,000 real estate professionals met at the Munich exhibition center these days. The real estate fair is the largest of its kind in Europe - at least in absolute figures.

The Munich real estate fair Expo Real came to a close yesterday. Over the three days of the fair, the organizers counted 42,000 participants - a slight increase on the previous year. There was a slight decrease in the number of exhibitors (1,742), while the proportion of international visitors rose by 5 %, according to Messe München. Visitors from 70 countries came to the industry get-together, which positions itself as a "working trade fair" and competes with the spring trade fair "Mipim" in Cannes for the title of Europe's most important real estate event.

In addition to the general market situation, which is still showing signs of crisis in most European markets, the dominant themes were affordable housing, new construction concepts and innovative utilization approaches for existing properties. Under the label "Transform & Beyond", the trade fair also dedicated a separate area to the presentation of new technological developments. Over 80 exhibitors and more than 50 start-ups were represented there. Switzerland had a strong presence, not least in this section.
