ISS: Major order from the pharmaceutical industry
In future, over 300 FM employees will look after the properties of a large company. ISS does not say who the client is.

Facility management specialist ISS Switzerland has reported that it has landed a major contract. This comes «from a major life sciences and pharmaceutical company» and includes integrated FM for four central locations in Switzerland. The mandate, which begins in the second quarter, will involve around 360 employees. «ISS will be mandated directly by the client in future and will assume the role of strategic partner for integrated facility management solutions», according to a press release.
ISS did not disclose which pharmaceutical company was involved when asked. However, rumors are circulating in the market that the order relates to the properties of Basel-based pharmaceutical giant Roche. The press departments of ISS and Roche would neither confirm nor deny this when asked by IB.
Comprehensive services and «single point of contact»
The scope of the mandate includes maintenance, repair and operation (MRO), building inspections and preventive and corrective maintenance. The offering is supplemented by infrastructural services such as cleaning, grounds and green space maintenance including winter services, logistics and postal services as well as workplace and laboratory support services. The integrated service model also includes a central customer helpdesk and on-site facility coordination as a «single point of contact». With this mandate, ISS Switzerland is strengthening its market leadership in the field of integrated facility services in the life sciences sector, emphasizes the company, which generated sales of CHF 901 million in 2024 with 14,200 employees. ISS Switzerland is part of the Copenhagen-based ISS Group. (aw)
