Liechtenstein: Bank builds campus for 700 employees
An architectural firm from Bregenz has been awarded the contract for the new building. Construction is due to start in 2028.

Bank Frick has completed the architectural competition for its new headquarters in the Liechtenstein municipality of Unterbendern. With construction expected to start at the beginning of 2028, the designs of a planning team led by Vorarlberg-based Bernardo Bader Architekten will be implemented. A six-storey main building and two further buildings with four and five storeys respectively, each with a basement, are planned. The structures consist of a concrete base, with a timber construction with arcades above. The new building, which is arranged around a green inner courtyard, thus forms the «Campus Bank Frick».
The design was selected from seven submitted projects. Each building has an atrium in the center, around which modular offices are arranged. «This creates interior spaces and open structures that are characterized by wood, large windows and daylight,» writes the bank in a press release. «This interplay creates a health-promoting, inspiring environment and makes Campus Bank Frick the prelude to a new quarter - a place where architecture, nature and community meet on an equal footing,» says architect Bernardo Bader. The plot measures 4,246 square meters.
Occupation planned for 2031
For the municipality, the project is «a first, decisive building block for the development of Unterbendern». The square under the church hill is defined as a center with an attractive mix of users and a high quality of stay. As it is planned to relocate the main traffic axis, accessibility will be improved for all road users, says community leader Johannes Hasler.
Bank Frick intends to commission the specialist planners in the first quarter to begin detailed planning. The new building will create a total of up to 700 workstations, some of which will be leased to third parties depending on space requirements. According to the schedule, Bank Frick will move into the buildings in 2031.
