Domdidier: Switzerland's largest rooftop solar installation planned
The largest solar power plant in Switzerland, which will be operated on a single property, will be built on an Aldi Suisse property in Domdidier (FR) by 2026.

On behalf of EKT AG and Energie Pool Schweiz AG, Helion will construct a mega solar power plant with an output of 10 MWp for Aldi Suisse in Domdidier (FR). Helion will install over 21,000 modules on the roof of a single building. Construction work will begin this summer, with commissioning scheduled for 2026.
According to Helion, once completed it will be the largest PV system in Switzerland installed on a single roof. The property is a distribution center of the food discounter. One fifth of the system is designed as a self-consumption system and is being built on the basis of a contracting model. Energie Pool acts as the contractor and operates the system. (aw)
