VZ Depotbank plans office tower in Zug
VZ Depotbank and Urban Assets Zug want to build a high-rise office building on the Tech Cluster Zug site as the bank's new headquarters.

Currently, and probably until the end of the year, the architectural competition for the planned CreaTowers on the area of the Tech Cluster Zug. VZ Depotbank (VZ Group) intends to move into approx. 6,000 sqm of main usable space there. To this end, Urban Assets Zug AG, a subsidiary of Metall Zug AG, and VZ Depotbank AG have signed a letter of intent for the construction of the new banking headquarters. The financial institution intends to acquire the CreaTowers Ost building together with the associated land parcel (building footprint) of approx. 700 sqm.
The project for the VZ Group marks the start of the overall development of the CreaTowers site between Baarerstrasse and Industriestrasse. Two high-rise buildings with maximum heights of 40 m and 60 m respectively, a base building and a shared underground parking garage are planned. The construction site is currently still used as a parking lot. When the "Mobility Hub Zug North" starts operations in 2022, most of these parking spaces will no longer be needed, it is said.
Urban Asset Zug AG will develop and realize the CreaTowers as an overall project. After the eastern high-rise for VZ Depotbank, the western high-rise with urban uses and housing will be built in the second construction phase. The building application for the entire development will be submitted in 2022, and the CreaTowers East will be occupied by 2025. (mr)
