Zurich: Apple moves from Bahnhofstrasse to Rennweg
At the end of August, Apple will close its store at Bahnhofstrasse 77 in Zurich and move to a new location at Rennweg 43.

According to various media reports, the iPhone manufacturer Apple will be moving into a new location at the end of August in Zurich's Rennweg 43, a large commercial building bordering on Bahnhofstrasse and which until a few years ago was the headquarters of the Franz Carl Weber toy shop.
According to a report by the online portal Macprime.ch the new Apple store will occupy two floors and have a sales area of between 1,000 and 1,200 sqm. The current location on Bahnhofstrasse, on the other hand, is only a good 400 sqm. Since Franz Carl Weber moved out, the commercial building on Rennweg has been undergoing renovation. According to the report, office space is planned for the upper floors, while the first three floors will house retail space.
As has been known for some time, the car manufacturer Hyundai will occupy the second space with an entrance facing Bahnhofstrasse as a showroom for its luxury brand Genesis.
According to CBRE Switzerland, the owner Swiss Life had commissioned the company to look for new tenants for the former Franz-Carl-Weber-Haus. Swiss Life also owns the buildings at Bahnhofstrasse 75 and 77, where Apple currently still resides and Manor operates a department store. Between Manor and Swiss Life there are a legal battle for years: Swiss Life has terminated the lease with the department store operator because the property is to be converted. (ah)
